What’s the Role?


Overview

Dellwood Insurance Group is looking for a Financial Analyst to support its rapidly growing business. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to dive into complex processes and data-intensive workflows.

 

You’ll be a key member of the finance team, taking on critical reporting and reconciliation work that enables more strategic analysis and decision-making. This is a highly visible role ideal for a data-driven candidate with a strong aptitude to learn and develop.

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Processing & Validation 

  • Routinely check data to ensure quality.
  • Conduct high-volume reviews of policy documents.
  • Maintain strict version control and documentation of required adjustments.
  • Perform root cause analysis for any errors that are identified and present findings to manager.
  • Track recurring issues and follow-up on their resolutions.

Financial Data Preparation

  • Complete weekly reports on key metrics (such as bound premium) to senior leadership.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for insurance entities and management reporting.
  • Produce monthly premium, loss, and commission entries.
  • Prepare reporting schedules and dashboards for senior management and board reporting.

Reporting & Analytics Evolution 

  • Support large data pulls and manipulate raw data into usable KPI insights for finance leadership.
  • Assist with testing of automated systems prior to their release.
  • Accommodate new business processes as needed and new tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–4 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
  • Prior exposure to insurance industry (P&C) preferred.
  • Comfortable managing large datasets (50,000+ rows).
  • Intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, nested IF statements), including the ability to design files from scratch.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn.
  • Capacity to work outside standard business hours (including weekends) to accommodate key business processes.

Location: Summit, New Jersey (minimum two days in office)

Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
