Job Description

Overall Scope: To support our continued growth opportunities, Gold’s Gym is currently searching for Financial Analyst candidates to fill an opening in our Accounting & Finance department. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a growing company and to become a part of the most famous brand in fitness.

Responsibilities: 

Operations Finance

  • Support the annual budgeting process, including development of monthly budgets for the next calendar year for individual gyms.
  • Support long-range planning for corporate growth through acquisition, new site development and roll-out of new service offerings to existing facilities.
  • Intra-month score-carding and reporting to facilitate executive level decision-making.
  • Member and customer analysis to provide insight regarding new member sales, gym usage, gym traffic and member attrition.
  • Revenue modeling and analysis to support pricing and volume decisions for existing facilities and new locations.
  • Expense modeling and analysis to support field and corporate expenditure initiatives.
  • Additional financial and operational analysis, as required, to support gym operations, as well as near-term and long-term financial decision making.
  • Analytical support of marketing, retail and concessions, corporate sales, group exercise, personal training and other departments, per request.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close as needed.

Operating Metrics and Billing Support

  • Maintain all operating metrics files, including monthly upload to general ledger.
  • Perform periodic audit of active member files to ensure proper recording of member status, adherence to ASC 606 revenue accounting, and member counts.
  • Support billing department in monthly billing process, including periodic audit of billing files and reconciliation to active member files and other records.
  • Interface with leadership team and department personnel to communicate findings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Financial modeling and data-analysis skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
  • Experience with Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Experience with mergers & acquisitions is a plus
  • Advanced Excel capabilities are required.
  • Major in Finance, Accounting or Business is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 – 3+ years’ work experience in financial / accounting role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Accounting rules and mechanics is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to adapt to fast-moving analytical situations with minimal oversight and guidance is a must.
