Family Service Association is seeking passionate Full Time Financial Office Assistant to join our incredible team in our Guardianship Department.

The Financial Office Assistant's responsibility is to assist Guardianship/Rep Payee Financial Supervisor with all aspects of financial matters and clerical assignments relating to clients of the Guardianship Program.  

This is a part time 32 hour/week position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and hourly rate starts between $17 & $19 per hour (offer could increase based on bilingual capacity and experience.)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respect the confidential nature of all program services and communications therewith.
  • Assist with Representative Payee reports for Social Security Administration.
  • Annual purging of client financial folders.
  • Assist with MassHealth application of Redeterminations.
  • Correspond with utility companies in connections with discharging service.
  • Correspond with Social Security Office, pension companies, etc. at time of death,
  • Assist with Fiduciary Report for Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • General administrative and clerical duties.
  • Assist with preparation of Court Accounts.
  • Reconcile and file bank statements.
  • Assist in answering client phone calls as needed.
  • Assist with bank runs to ensure deposits are made timely.
  • Respond to reasonable expectation of the Guardianship/Rep Payee Financial Supervisor, Program Director and/or Agency.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.  
  • Skill set to work with numbers.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills a must.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets required. 

Must be able to successfully complete a MA State CORI check, CPS check.
