About the Agency: The mission of the ICfL is to assist libraries to build the capacity to best serve their communities. We’re looking for a Financial Strategy Library Consultant to join our team in Boise, Idaho. Located in the heart of downtown Boise, the ICfL embodies a people-focused agency with a supportive and friendly culture.
Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about trends, laws, regulations, and best practices related to nonprofit fundraising, grant administration, and library funding.
- Consult with and provide problem-solving assistance to library directors, staff, trustees, Friends groups, and foundations regarding financial strategy, grant development, and sustainable library funding strategies.
- Develop resources and training that strengthen libraries’ long-term financial sustainability, including donor development, strategic partnerships, and community engagement.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate tools, training, and resources related to grant writing, grant management, library donor relations, Friends groups, and library foundations using a variety of accessible delivery methods.
- Work collaboratively with the ICfL Grants Officer and Grants Specialist to identify funding opportunities, support grant program development, and coordinate grant-related services for Idaho Libraries.
- Represent the interests and needs of Idaho libraries in local, regional, and national organizations, partnerships, and professional activities related to grants, fundraising, and library financial sustainability.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, philanthropic entities, educational institutions, and other partners that support Idaho libraries.
- Promote awareness of ICfL financial development resources, training opportunities, and grant services through presentations, publications, and communication channels.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Considerable knowledge of the professional principles and practices of library science.
- Considerable knowledge of current trends in library services.
- Some knowledge of grants administration.
- Experience planning and evaluating projects, programs or services in a library setting.
- Experience using facilitation, decision-making and problem-solving techniques with groups.
- Experience planning, developing and presenting training.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in library science or closely related field, or comparable combination of education and experience.
