Role Overview:
Responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems on commercial and/or industrial job sites. This role supports the sprinkler team by performing general labor tasks, handling materials and tools, and helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment at job sites
- Support sprinkler fitters and foremen with measuring, cutting, and assembling pipe and system components
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently
- Assist with reading blueprints, drawings, and project specifications as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and properly
- Transport materials and supplies to work areas
- Observe and comply with company safety policies and job site safety requirements
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned to support the fire sprinkler crew
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous construction or mechanical experience preferred, but not required
- Willingness to learn fire sprinkler installation methods, tools, and materials
Competencies:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- Strong willingness to learn and follow directions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Dependable with good attendance and work ethic
- Strong attention to safety and detail
Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures
- Exposure to noise and dust
- Must be able to bend, climb, and work at heights and in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or working in awkward positions
