Responsibilities
- Design and conduct engaging group fitness classes tailored to the interests and needs of residents in Independent Living at Holland Home.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all fitness levels, encouraging active participation in the fitness center and classes.
- Promote the use of fitness equipment and facilitate equipment orientations.
- Conduct fitness assessments to help residents set and achieve their functional fitness goals.
- Develop and assess both short-term and long-term fitness program goals to ensure they align with residents’ needs.
- Monitor and maintain exercise equipment, ensuring all preventative maintenance is performed timely.
- Recommend new exercise equipment to enhance program offerings and activities. Maintain accurate fitness schedules, records, and reports.
- Build lasting relationships with residents and their families, addressing and handling any resident/ family concerns.

Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Thursday; No weekends
Hours: 8am - 4:30pm; 36 hours per week

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field.
- Personal training and/or group exercise and experience working with older adults is certification preferred.
- Proof of a valid Michigan driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance
Requirements:
- Strong ability to engage with older adults and foster meaningful connections.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff, residents, and families, demonstrating courtesy and respect.
- Proficient written communication skills for maintaining necessary documentation.
