Position Summary
Jerry's Auto Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager / General Manager to lead the operations of our new Sioux Falls location. This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service and parts departments while providing leadership, direction, and operational management for the facility.
The ideal candidate will have a proven automotive background with prior experience as a Service Manager, Service Advisor, and Parts Professional. This individual must possess strong leadership skills, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to work independently while driving profitability, efficiency, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations Management
Oversee all daily service department operations, workflow, and customer interactions
Monitor and improve key performance indicators including labor sales, gross profit, technician productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Ensure repair orders are processed accurately and efficiently
Handle customer concerns and escalated issues in a professional manner
Maintain a high level of customer retention through exceptional service experiences
Parts Department Oversight
Manage parts inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and inventory controls
Work closely with service personnel to ensure timely parts availability
Monitor parts gross profit and inventory turns
Ensure proper inventory management procedures are followed
Leadership & Personnel Management
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop service and parts personnel
Establish performance expectations and hold team members accountable
Conduct regular employee evaluations and performance discussions
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
Lead by example through drive, desire, determination, dedication, and compassion.
Business Operations
Manage departmental profitability and expense controls
Review operational reports and implement improvement strategies
Work closely with ownership and leadership to achieve company objectives
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Support business growth initiatives and community involvement efforts
Qualifications Required
Previous Service Manager experience
Previous Service Advisor experience
Previous Parts Department experience
Strong understanding of automotive service and parts operations
Proven ability to lead and manage employees effectively
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred
Multi-department management experience
Experience managing dealership fixed operations
Experience with dealership management systems
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and departmental financial management
ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications are a plus
Experience with classic and collector vehicles.
Work Environment & Travel
This position is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Occasional travel to other Jerry's Auto Group locations may be required for meetings, training, and operational support. The position requires frequent interaction with customers, employees, vendors, and company leadership in a fast-paced automotive environment.
