Summary/Objective
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the daily operations of all F&B outlets under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager, helping to ensure that service standards are consistently met across all areas. This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership role that requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to accountability, and the ability to lead a team with confidence and energy. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and passionate about hospitality. They model a positive attitude, support staff training and development, and step in to manage operations effectively in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and lead the dining floor each shift; help set the tone for hospitality, timing, and service flow across all F&B outlets, including à la carte dining, pool grill, and auxiliary amenities.
- Lead and participate in daily pre-shift meetings to review reservations, member preferences, 86s, specials, service notes, and section assignments.
- Monitor and uphold service standards at all times, including steps of service, menu presentation, table settings, signage, uniforms, and overall visual details.
- Monitor with formatting, updating, and printing menus for seasonal changes and weekly specials; verify accuracy of ingredients, descriptions, and grammar before distribution.
- Verify the completion of opening and closing checklists, weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks, and the overall readiness of all service areas.
- Identify gaps or opportunities to improve standards and efficiency; communicate findings to the F&B Manager and assist with implementing updated processes and systems.
- Lead all resets, deep cleans, and daily duties to be completed thoroughly and to standard.
- Monitor the execution of events and banquets by helping confirm BEO accuracy, supporting staffing coordination, and overseeing timelines, room sets, and breakdowns.
- Monitor beverage program management, including lists, tastings, training, inventories, and pars.
- Monitor POS accuracy; assist in confirming pricing, modifiers, transfers, waste log, and reporting.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards; help maintain a safe environment for all guests and staff.
- Partner with Golf, Wellness, Recreation, and Sales departments to support daily needs and events as directed by the F&B Manager or Director of Food & Beverage.
Marginal Functions
- Support other departments during peak times or special projects as assigned.
- Participate in property-wide initiatives and training when required.
- Fill in for other supervisory roles as needed.

Work Environment
This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons and events.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a food and beverage supervisory or management role, or a minimum of 5 years of food & bverage experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or private club setting.
- Fine dining background with a working knowledge of wine and spirits.
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
Work Authorization
Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.
