Job Description

Nexus Disposal is seeking a skilled and experienced Frontload Driver to join our team. As a Commercial Driver, you will operate a front-end truck to service commercial routes, collecting and transporting waste or recyclables in accordance with customer contracts. You will navigate through congested communities and tight areas, with backing skills being essential as a significant portion of the job involves reverse maneuvers. Our drivers are responsible for servicing approximately 75 to 125 commercial customers per day along assigned routes, and the waste collected must be properly transferred to designated stations, landfills, or drop-off locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Safely and efficiently navigate through congested communities and tight areas in city and suburban locations.

•    Utilize backing skills for a significant portion of the job, as servicing customers often requires reverse maneuvers.

•    Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts, and occasionally climb onto truck containers to adjust loads or secure traps for transport.

•    Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, as well as company policies.

•    Communicate professionally with customers and dispatchers, including handling complaints about schedules and service quality.

•    Document and report any complaints received, responding in a courteous and respectful manner.

•    Adhere to assigned work hours, which may include weekends and holidays, while staying within legal limits.

•    Read and understand maps, complete daily driver logs, and perform pre and post trip truck inspections.

•    Work in various weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold, wet or dry conditions. Note that truck cabs may not have air conditioning but may have a small fan.
