Job Description

Position Summary 
The Floor Lead is physically present on the floor and maintains an orderly sales floor and handles the needs of all patients and patrons. The role will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the retail store. You will be responsible for supervising and supporting the budtender technicians, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your in-depth knowledge of cannabis products, strong leadership skills, and passion for the industry will contribute to creating a positive and safe environment
for both employees and customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the sales team members in a cannabis retail environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies regarding the sale of cannabis products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor that adheres to health and safety standards.
  • Train and onboard new sales team members, ensuring they are knowledgeable about cannabis products, consumption methods, and responsible use.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate cannabis products based on their preferences, needs, and desired effects.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information about product inventory, pricing, and promotions.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to resolve issues to customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring product availability and minimizing stock discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and product displays to drive sales and enhance customer experience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and regulatory changes pertaining to cannabis.
  • Conduct cash handling procedures, including opening and closing registers, managing cash drops, and reconciling sales at the end of each shift.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably within the cannabis industry.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cannabis products, strains, consumption methods, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software.
  • Knowledge of local and state cannabis laws and regulations (where applicable).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a retail floor environment for the full duration of each shift.
