Job Skills / Requirements

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on, and motivated Lead Custodian to join our team. This position will work closely with the Site Manager and will play a key role in assisting with daily operations, special projects, staff coordination, and ensuring that all custodial services are performed to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can effectively communicate, delegate tasks, support team members, and lead by example while actively participating in daily cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Site Manager with daily operations, special projects, and various operational tasks as assigned.
• Lead and support a team of approximately five custodial employees.
• Delegate tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and according to company standards.
• Train, coach, and motivate team members.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding daily priorities and operational needs.
• Perform custodial duties alongside the team, including cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, floor care, and other related tasks.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
• Respond to changing priorities and assist with campus events, setups, and additional assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning industry is required.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience is strongly preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively manage, motivate, and support employees.
• Must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
• Must be willing and able to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
• Experience working in schools, colleges, universities, healthcare facilities, or similar institutional environments is a plus.
