Position Summary
Join our Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan (GSHOM) friendly and exciting Fund Development team. We want a highly motivated person to join our team as we work to ensure all girls gain courage, confidence, and character! Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in the nation.
In this position, you will be raising funds from Individual Donors and Corporate Donors. This position is responsible for planning and implementing an upscale fundraising event. You will be responsible for working with current donors, lapsed donors, and prospective donors. The Fundraising Events Specialist will continue to steward donors after the fundraising events with the goal of converting the donor to become an annual donor.
**The preferred location for this job is Kalamazoo or Lansing; however, we will accept applications from other regions.**
Essential Functions
- Planning and implementing an upscale fundraising event including prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship of donors.
- Will be in charge and take the lead of fundraising events including conception to post-event follow-up for fundraising events.
- Managing volunteer fundraising event committees, including recruitment and coordination.
- Overseeing event budgets, tracking fundraising goals, and analyzing results.
- Supervising event logistics, including vendor coordination, on-site production, and volunteer management.
- Making phone calls to set up donor meetings with individual donors and corporate donors.
- Making phone calls to prospective donors (cold calls), current donors, and lapsed donors.
- Meeting with individual donors and corporate donors. During these meetings, the candidate will be delivering the Girl Scout mission which will result in a donation.
- Develop and manage strong relationships with individual donors, corporate donors, volunteers, and community leaders to support the growth of Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.
- Assure design and maintenance of donor and prospect records, gift management systems, and informational reports.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule
- Full-time position working at least 40 hours per week.
- More hours may be required during peak seasons.
- Position may require multiple evenings and occasional weekend work.
