General Accountant

EFJohnson provides wireless communications products and systems for public safety, commercial, and government customers. We design, manufacture, and market conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters, and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 digital radio products.

As a General Accountant, you’ll assist in the oversight and operation of the accounting department. Provide management with timely and accurate financial information for effective operation of the business. Prepare and ensure accuracy and integrity of: General Ledger, internal financial reporting, month-end reconciliations, and other internal and external reports and returns. This role is hybrid. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Expense variance analysis / reconciliation, financial reporting and closing cycle administration.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Coordinate the month-end closing process. Ensure monthly reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversee all accounting tables in the accounting system to ensure accurate calculations and reporting capabilities. Prepares accounting reports from the accounting system and financial reports using report-writing tools.
  • Prepare and review the monthly transactions required for timely month end closing cycle; to include journal entries, delivery, and analysis of budget versus actual for functional areas; tie out income statement and balance sheets.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cash flow activity reports and statement of cash flows.
  • Credit card administration: new set up/cancellations, monthly delinquency monitoring, statement coding.
  • Oversee cash accounting systems to ensure accurate transaction flow and reporting capabilities. 
  • Coordinate quarterly paperwork with outside CPA firm for quarterly and annual financials. 
  • Ensure all financial information is accurate and reported on a timely basis, along with maintaining all regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Supports/Assists Corporate Controller and CFO with special projects.

  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Must be proficient with computer-based accounting software and MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of USGAAP and IFRS.
  • Two to seven years’ accounting experience.
