Overview
The General Dentist provides leadership, exceptional dental care, and results in our practice. They must adhere to the highest standards of dental care, ethics, service, and professionalism. The General Dentist is responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating dental issues and maintaining oral health while building a positive relationship with current and prospective patients. The General Dentist is a source of clinical support for other Associates and practice staff. The Associate supports and enhances the practice's systems, trains & coaches team members, and strives to achieve the goals and strategies of the practice.
As the General Dentist is a perceived leader in our practice, their actions must be of the highest caliber inside and outside the practice. Their contributions create a smooth-running, high-morale practice with a happy and productive team.

Duties/Responsibilities
Team Engagement: General Dentists are accountable for building solid and passionate teams aligned with their practice's mission, Vision, and Values of Select Dental Management.

- Participate in all staff meetings as a part of our "guiding coalition" for continuous improvement and change by being prepared with assignments, offering insight, and engaging in brainstorming activities to support the practice goals.
- Actively participates in morning huddles that support efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
- Actively participates in all continuing education opportunities to expand skills sets.
- Embodies the practice's vision to provide an atmosphere of continuous learning and mutual support where everyone bands together as a team to provide the utmost care to our patients while honoring each other.
Patient Satisfaction: General Dentists are accountable for delivering a WOW Patient Experience and delivering exceptional patient care in their practice. Quality care is always the best marketing.
- Performs high-quality dentistry with consistent results that support our vision of care.
- Reviews daily records in preparation for patients and morning huddles.
- Examines patients to determine the nature of dental condition utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Engages with our hygiene team in providing timely, practical, periodic exams during our patient's continuing care visits.
- Diagnoses and treats in coordination with our hygiene team - oral disease, periodontal disease, TMD, etc.
- Provides/prescribes preventive dental services to patients, such as prophylaxis, fluoride treatment, sealants, and oral and dental hygiene education.
- Provides/prescribes restorative and cosmetic solutions that support our patients' pursuit of long-term oral health and well-being.
- Counsels/supports patients to help them ensure that they pursue ideal treatment choices and follow-up with optimum home care.
- Uphold the guidelines for timely palliative treatment and care for all emergency visits for new patients and record patients.
- Upholds the guidelines for effective charting to promote safe, legal, and ethical treatment and follow-up.
- When dismissing a patient, follows the ideal protocols for debriefs and baton-passes (both written and verbal) to create seamless teamwork between front and back.
Practice Growth: General Dentists are accountable for the growth of active patients, production, and collections in their practice.
- Works with the team to build value for each appointment to reduce no-shows and cancellations.
- Works with the team to reactivate patients who have fallen out of ideal care intervals.
- Is continuously learning and growing through exploring and integrating new technology and clinical initiatives that promote excellent patient care and results.
- When not directly treating patients, is involved in following up on patients, reactivation, marketing to our general and referral community, and participating in ongoing team marketing projects that make the practice well-known and well thought of.
Practice Efficiency: General Dentists are accountable for managing Controllable Expenses and meeting or exceeding Budgets without impacting patient care in their practice.
- Efficiently and timely carrying out administrative duties of patient care, chart recording and reporting, and follow-up correspondence.
- Coordinates with the front office team to support ideal scheduling, financial arrangements, and continuing care compliance.

Education and Experience
- Dental school graduate
