The successful candidate will support maintenance planning and scheduling through accurate parts staging, kitting, and rebuild coordination.

Primary Purpose

 

To support maintenance planning by receiving, kitting, and staging parts and materials for planned, scheduled, and break-in work, and to assist planners with scheduling, backlog management, and coordination of break-in repairs.

 

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

 

An employee in this position is responsible for receiving and staging parts for planned and scheduled maintenance work, managing rebuild items and core returns, and assisting the Planning department with break-in work, backlog maintenance, and outage planning support. An employee must comply with state and federal health and safety regulations and all company policy and procedures.

INTERNAL

· Maintenance Planners, Schedulers, Supervisors, Operations, Supply Chain/Warehouse, Safety and Health, Training.

 

EXTERNAL

· Contractors, MSHA, other Barrick mines and organizations, Barrick Regional and Corporate functions.

 

 

Key Competencies

 

An employee must be able to do the following:

 

· Accurately receive, label, kit, and stage parts and materials in a fast-paced warehouse and staging environment.

· Operate a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, e.g. SAP) to manage work order statuses, requisitions, and notifications.

· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as needed to move, stage, and organize parts and rebuild items.

· Perform regular reaching, grasping, lifting, carrying, kneeling, pulling, pushing, and prying maneuvers to handle parts, components, and rebuild kits; weights up to 50 pounds, heights up to chest high.

· Frequently walk, stand, bend, or climb for extended periods of time (up to the entire shift) on concrete, ladders, stairs, and uneven and/or obstructed ground.

· Operate 2-way radio and telephone to communicate with planners, supervisors, and operations personnel.

· Wear required protective/safety equipment including safety toe shoes or boots, safety glasses, and hardhat, and additional PPE as required by task and area.

· Perform duties under conditions that may be adverse, including temperature extremes, noise, moving equipment, and outdoor weather exposure in the yard and warehouse areas.

· Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with planners, supervisors, contractors, and Supply Chain personnel.

· Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate, detailed records in a deadline-driven environment.

· Perform essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to himself or herself, to others, or to mine property or equipment.

· Attend and work through scheduled work shifts.

 

 

Work Experience

 

ESSENTIAL

· Proven safe work history.

· Experience receiving, kitting, and staging parts for planned and scheduled work, including labeling and tracking storage locations.

· Experience writing work orders and requisitions, including for rebuild items, and tracking rebuild items issued and returned.

· Experience coordinating with supervisors, operations, and contractors on break-in/breaker work orders.

· Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse, parts staging, inventory, or maintenance support role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Current MSHA Part 48 certification, or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

· Valid driver’s license.

 

DESIRABLE

. Mechanical background as it relates to mining.

· Experience supporting maintenance planners and schedulers, including draft scheduling and Run Time Hour tracking for rebuild scheduling.

· Experience ordering parts, specialized tooling, equipment, and contract labor, and managing overdue items with Supply Chain.

· Experience supporting outage/shutdown planning (e.g. refractory repairs, scaffolding, insulation, capital projects).

· Forklift and other material-handling equipment operation experience/certification.

· Experience in a mining, industrial, or heavy-equipment maintenance environment.
