Job Description

Teacher - Short Term Substitute


 


Job Summary


Responsible for implementation of course of studies aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.  In addition, the educator would provide for a supportive learning environment for all students


 


Qualifications



  • Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Education

  • Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License for field and grade level for position

  • Meets all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified 

  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Ability to use technology effectively 

  • Current knowledge of implementation of best practice in curriculum


Responsibilities



  • Creatively provide an interdisciplinary course of study that supports the current curriculum. 

  • Provide for differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with disabilities and English learners. 

  • Provide opportunities for the integration of technology into the classroom. 

  • Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners needs through structured routines, and positive behavioral interventions.

  • Establish classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of appropriate curriculum. 

  • Provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families. 

  • Partner with families to create strong two way communication. 

  • Regularly partner and plan with other department, and school teams to provide the best educational program possible for all students. 

  • Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues to positively contribute to the school culture. 

  • Implement assessments to measure student progress in their course of study. 

  • Responsible for other job-related duties as needed
