Part-time (26 hrs/wk)

This position requires availability to work evenings and weekends as a part of a regular schedule.

Salary: $16.54-$20.68/hr. DOQ. $20.68 is the mid-point of the salary range reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

We are looking for: 

  • A customer service champion who will follow our Patron Experience Guidelines to deliver GREAT service to everyone who walks through our doors.
  • A team member who helps ensure the Library remains a Safe, Respectful, and Responsible space by enforcing our Patron Behavior Guide with professionalism and empathy.
  • Someone who understands the importance of privacy and can handle patron data with confidentiality.
  • A flexible worker who is comfortable serving patrons at multiple service points, including the drive-up window, during scheduled shifts.
  • A detail-oriented individual to check out/check in materials, issue library cards, and collect fines and fees accurately and efficiently.
  • A clear communicator to answer phones, provide information, and route calls appropriately.
  • Someone who can accurately enter data for a variety of transactions.
  • A team player to process delivery bins, handle kits, games, and Library returns, and check for missing, broken, or service-needing items.
  • A problem-solver who can process delinquencies, identify lost or damaged items, and troubleshoot patron account issues using both technology and in-person follow-up.
  • A proactive presence who can monitor and tidy public areas like the vestibule, lobby, and restrooms, and report any larger maintenance issues to the proper staff.
  • Someone who can assist patrons using self-checkout stations.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends is required as part of the regular schedule.
  • Someone who enjoys standing, bending, stretching, and lifting at work. 
  • Bilingual in (Spanish/English) highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • One year of experience working with the public is required.
  • The ability to use computer, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are bilingual in English and proficient in Polish, Spanish or any of the other languages spoken by patrons we are happy to serve.
