Job Description

Installs, maintains, repairs and replaces heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems and other related equipment.  Provides guidance to HVAC Mechanic B and other personnel assigned to projects.

Job Responsibility

1.Installs, maintains, repairs and replaces heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment throughout the hospital.
2.Recommends and/or prepares purchase requests.
3.Assists Contractors in shutdown of services and utility systems, as needed.
4.Provides guidance and instructions to HVAC Mechanic B and other personnel assigned to projects.
5.Serves as a member of the Fire Response Team.
6.Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
•Certificate of Fitness from NYC Fire Department required: F-60, G-60.
•Certificate from the Department of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA 608 Universal Certification), required.
• Minimum three (3) years of HVAC experience, required.  
• Ability to use tools of the trade and comprehend blueprints, required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
