Role Overview
Golfballs.com is seeking a Finance & Accounting Leader
to oversee and elevate the company’s financial strategy, accounting operations,
reporting, and overall financial infrastructure.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for helping guide the company
through its next phase of growth by serving as a key financial thought partner
to the CEO and leadership team. This leader will play a critical role in
shaping company strategy, improving financial visibility, supporting
data-driven decision-making, and building scalable financial systems and
processes that support long-term growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial and accounting expertise with
strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and a modern technology mindset. This
role requires someone who embraces innovation, leverages automation and AI
tools to improve efficiency and insight, and collaborates closely with
Technology and business leaders to help build a more data-driven organization.
The title and level of this role (VP-CFO) will be determined based on the
candidate’s experience, leadership background, and demonstrated impact.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy

Lead the company’s overall finance and
accounting functions
·
Serve as a trusted financial advisor and thought
partner to the CEO and leadership team
·
Develop financial strategies that support
sustainable growth, profitability, and scalability
·
Drive budgeting, forecasting, long-range
planning, and financial modeling
·
Deliver clear recommendations and decision-ready
insights—not just reporting and analysis
·
Help reduce executive decision burden through
structured financial modeling, prioritization, and actionable recommendations
·
Drive accountability around EBITDA performance,
profitability improvement, and financial discipline across the organization
·
Translate financial and operational data into
actionable business insights and strategic recommendations
·
Provide leadership-level reporting, analysis,
and decision support across the organization
·
Partner with leadership to improve visibility
into business performance, forecasting accuracy, and financial discipline
·
Help evaluate investments, growth initiatives,
and strategic opportunities through disciplined financial analysis
·
Lead board, lender, and banking reporting
processes and communication cadence
·
Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making
across the organization
Accounting & Financial Operations
·
Oversee all accounting operations including
general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, inventory accounting, and month-end close
·
Lead corporate accounts receivable credit
underwriting and collections processes
·
Own and manage the company’s multi-state sales
and use tax compliance program
·
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial
reporting
·
Maintain a culture of high financial accuracy
and accountability with strong system-driven controls and zero-tolerance for
material reporting errors
·
Maintain and strengthen internal controls,
accounting policies, and financial governance practices
·
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax
advisors, banks, and other financial partners
·
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local
reporting requirements
·
Oversee cash management, treasury functions, and
working capital optimization
·
Improve close processes, reporting accuracy, and
financial operational efficiency
Operational Finance & Business Partnership
·
Partner cross-functionally with Operations,
Technology, Sales, Marketing, and eCommerce teams to support strategic
decision-making
·
Develop KPI frameworks and reporting dashboards
that improve visibility into company performance
·
Analyze business performance, margins, customer
acquisition economics, inventory efficiency, and profitability drivers
·
Drive financial visibility into margin
performance, EBITDA improvement opportunities, and business profitability
·
Support pricing, inventory planning, and growth
initiatives through financial modeling and analysis
·
Provide leadership with actionable insights into
performance trends, risks, and opportunities
·
Partner with department leaders to improve
financial accountability and decision-making quality across the organization
·
Support operational planning and strategic
initiatives through thoughtful financial analysis, forecasting, and
recommendation development
Systems, Technology & Scalability
·
Champion adoption of modern financial
technologies, automation, and AI-driven tools across finance and accounting
workflows
·
Partner closely with the Technology team to
improve systems integrations, reporting capabilities, data accessibility, and
business intelligence
·
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and
automation to improve reporting accuracy, forecasting, efficiency, and
decision-making
·
Help build scalable financial systems and
infrastructure that support long-term company growth
·
Build scalable financial processes and system
controls designed to improve data integrity, reporting consistency, and
operational confidence
·
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend
solutions that improve financial visibility and organizational effectiveness
·
Drive continuous process improvement across
finance and accounting operations

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and
accounting team

Qualifications
Required
·
Proven leadership experience in finance and
accounting roles
·
Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic
business partner to executive leadership
·
Strong expertise in financial planning and
analysis (FP&A), accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow
management, financial modeling, and business analytics
·
Strong systems orientation with enthusiasm for
technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools
·
Experience improving reporting, workflows, and
decision-making through technology adoption
·
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·
High attention to detail and operational rigor
·
Ability to balance strategic thinking with
hands-on execution
·
Excellent communication and cross-functional
leadership skills
Preferred
·
Experience in e-commerce, retail, consumer
products, or distribution environments
·
Experience with inventory-intensive businesses
·
Experience leading finance in a growth-oriented
or entrepreneurial company
·
CPA and/or MBA preferred
·
Experience implementing or optimizing
ERP/accounting systems

Experience managing banking and lending
relationships

Experience preparing organizations for future
