Job Description

About You

You will be a results-driven, strong leader with the ability to shape and influence at C suite levels and drive focused execution and collaboration across Supply Chain and Procurement. Experience in a complex capital asset environment is preferred and exposure to engineering, Defence or government industries will be viewed favourably. You will have the ability to work in a multi-dimensional matrix environment and provide holistic leadership and solutions as part of the overarching supply chain approach. Your stakeholder engagement skills will be second to none, maintaining high levels of customer relations with complex and sensitive groups.

 

Your strategic nature will enable you to partner with regional and global representatives and government organisations to keep pace with emerging procurement and supply chain themes, to provide high quality outcomes that enable our business function to support whole of business strategy.

 

You will be pivotal in informing the approach for wider engagement, aligning our strategy and approach, and building roadmaps to embed the supply chain function which is core to the success of Babcock.

About the Role

Forming part of our Transformation office and reporting to the Chief Delivery Officer, you will own and deliver the development and execution of an efficient and effective supply chain service for the Australasian business, working with Babcock International to ensure alignment of our approach. This will involve leading the team to ensure contractual obligations are met and delivery is optimised whilst growing the Supply Chain and Procurement capability via continuous improvement, governance, systems and process development supporting business strategy, best practice initiatives, project delivery and business winning. 

 

With the opportunity to be based in any of our locations across Australasia, you will collaborate with corporate, business units, programs, projects and bid teams to coordinate and manage all supply chain engagement, procurement and purchasing duties to agreed objectives and service levels.

 

You will be an engaging people leader with an open mindset ready to embrace, drive and manage change within our supply chain management function whilst promoting a strong organisational culture driven by clear and cohesive direction.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Business, Commerce, Legal or Finance
  • Significant experience at a senior leadership level with strong commercial acumen and people leadership skills
  • Proven experience working in a complex capital asset environment
  • Experience leading large teams across a complex, matrix environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain complex stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate level of Australian Defence Security Clearance as per role requirements

 

Desirable

  • Operational focus experience within supply chain operations, logistics, commercial or procurement operations
  • Proven experience working within a Defence or government related environment
