JOB PURPOSE:



Ensures the educational development of students, the professional development of teachers and a strong relationship between the school, district and community



 



by


implementing policies, curriculum plans and programs, developing procedures, providing a safe and healthy environment conducive to learning.

Ensures academic outcomes



 



by



 



assisting in the implementation of instructional programs, observing classroom instruction, and evaluating instructional program.



2.



Ensures safety of students and staff



 



by



 



establishing and maintaining an effective and safe learning climate in the school, developing and enforcing rules of conduct; resolving teacher/parent/student conflicts.



3.



Assists in maintaining high quality staff



 



by



 



assisting in the recruitment, selection, orientation and coaching of teachers; assisting in the evaluation and counseling of staff members regarding individual and group performances.



4.



Ensures community support



 



by



 



establishing and maintaining favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for all students’ objectives and programs; supporting board policies and administrative directives; and discussing and resolving student problems.



5.



Complies with federal, state and local requirements



 



by



 



studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising principal on needed actions; collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Ensures efficient and effective use of resources

assisting in preparing budgetary requests and monitoring expenditure of funds.

engaging in professional development sessions, seminars, and courses; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
