Job Description

Pay Rate:  $16.90 / hr


A Denny's Host/Hostess acts as the first point of contact, delivering a "Guests First" experience by warmly greeting, seating, and managing the waitlist. Key responsibilities include managing to-go orders, cleaning, assisting with beverage service, handling payments, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role requires strong communication, multitasking abilities, and a professional attitude.


Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Guest Service: Greets guests immediately, seats them, and introduces features of the day.
  • Waitlist & Seating: Manages the seating chart/rotation, maintains a clean waiting area, and handles reservations
  • Operations: Answers phones, takes to-go orders, and handles cash/card payments.
  • Menu & Sanitation: Keeps menus clean, stocks the host stand, and assists with beverage refills.
  • Support: Assists other team members with bussing and cleaning tables during busy times.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Skills: Exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Physical: Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience: Previous restaurant experience is often preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
