Job Description

The Budd Group is looking for a reliable and experienced Utility Technician (Janitorial staff member) who would be the backbone of the Staff, supporting the second shift.

Utility Tech

Location: Springfield, TN

Pay Rate: $17.00 / hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday 3 pm - 11:30 p.m.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Janitorial Utility Cleaner to join our team. This is a vital "swing" role that keeps our facilities running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for specialized floor care and ensuring high-traffic areas remain pristine, while also stepping in to support the general cleaning team when needed.

Key Responsibilities

As a Utility Cleaner, your duties involve both specialized floor maintenance and general custodial support:

  • Floor Care: Expertly handle vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping across various surfaces.

  • Machine Operation: Operate a Tugger machine, all types of floor machines, and perform carpet spotting to maintain flooring integrity.

  • Team Support: Fill in for absenteeism to ensure the facility remains fully serviced.

  • General Cleaning: Pulling trash, dusting, and thorough restroom cleaning.

  • Adaptability: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to meet site-specific needs.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1–3 years of professional cleaning or janitorial experience.

  • Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout the shift.

  • Reliability: Consistent attendance for the M-F evening block

  • Efficiency: Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks within the 4-hour shift.

  • Screening: Must be able to successfully pass a mandatory drug screening, criminal background check, and E-Verify
