Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is to provide excellent custodial and facilities housekeeping to
ensure clean, safe, well-maintained, comfortable, and efficient educational and work
environments for students and personnel. They are responsible for the cleanliness of the
campus buildings and overseeing the duties of work service students assigned to the
housekeeping department.
Reports To: Infrastructure and Board Administration Coordinator
Classification: Non-exempt, hourly, full-time, 12-month.
Essential Functions:
- Typical Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6 am–3 pm.
- Ability and willingness to work after hours, weekends, shift work or holidays if necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of ASMS facilities.
- Set up rooms/spaces for special events as required.
- Dispose of waste properly, including recyclables.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and paper products.
- Manage work service students, including training, scheduling, and supervision.
- Be familiar with ASMS policies and implement appropriately.
- Be familiar with ASMS Emergency Procedures and implement as needed.
- Build an open and collaborative relationship with students, parents, Community Life Staff, Operations and Security personnel.
- Implement the mission, goals and policies of ASMS.
- Assume other duties as assigned by the Directors, Vice President, and/or President.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in janitorial services and/or facilities upkeep including knowledge of the various cleaning supplies necessary to maintain the facilities.
- Proficient in the operation of basic computer programs.
- Experience working with adolescents required.
- Must enjoy being part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning furniture, floors, walls, windows, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures and in making routine repairs.
- Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in locations involving heights or confined spaces; to work indoors and outdoors year-round in noisy, crowed environments, and inclement weather.
- Ability to engage in prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching.
- Strength and agility to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- High level of personal initiative and ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass a background check.
