Housekeeping Associate – Job Description 

Location: Joe Patti’s Seafood Market 

Position Summary 

The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the market. This role supports daily operations by ensuring all customer-facing and back-of-house areas meet cleanliness standards, especially in a fast-paced seafood and food service setting. 

 Key Responsibilities 

• Clean and sanitize floors, restrooms, work areas, and common spaces regularly  
• Sweep, mop, and remove debris from high-traffic areas  
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly, including seafood-related waste  
• Clean and disinfect surfaces, counters, and equipment following food safety guidelines  
• Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and restroom items  
• Respond quickly to spills, hazards, or sanitation concerns  
• Maintain cleanliness in coolers, storage areas, and employee spaces  
• Assist with deep cleaning tasks as scheduled (walls, drains, equipment, etc.)  
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations   

Qualifications 

• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a plus  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, wet, and cold environment  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team  

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.  
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures (including refrigerated areas)  
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely  

Work Environment 

• Fast-paced seafood market with heavy foot traffic  
• Exposure to water, ice, seafood products, and cleaning chemicals  
• Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required
