Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer or designee, the HRA Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive High-Resolution Anoscopy (HRA), evaluations, for diagnosis and/or treatment of anal and rectal conditions at the clinic site. The HRA Nurse Practitioner will coordinate all of the services necessary for health promotion, maintenance, rehabilitation, and the prevention of disease and disability.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret medical and psycho-social histories; perform physical examinations pertinent to the procedure; identify problems; formulate a plan of treatment; provide education and referral (as indicated) and evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions prescribed.
- Perform high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) including anal cytology, HPV collection, and targeted biopsies if indicated
- Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests (e.g., cytology, histology, imaging studies, etc.)
- Administer or coordinates/order treatments of anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions and/or condylomas, when indicated. Treatments may include ablation therapy (e.g., hyfrecation), clinician-applied treatments (e.g., trichloroacetic acid), and/or client-applied treatments (e.g., Imiquimod, fluorouracil).
- Consult with/or refer clients with abnormal findings such as Anal Cancer when indicated
- Perform or order laboratory tests and interpret the results as part of the HRA procedure. Report communicable diseases in a timely manner to the appropriate health department as per health center protocol.
- Follows established treatment guidelines as indicated by health center protocols
- Conduct health teaching and counseling during the medical encounter as appropriate, enabling the client to make informed choices about health and treatment options
- Complete the client's clinical record documentation in a timely manner specific to the applicable policies and procedures of the health center
- Participate in quality improvement/assurance activities
- Participate in continuing medical education activities to enhance professionalism to ensure the quality of care
- Work collaboratively with all members of the health center to build a supportive team
- Apply infection control measures according to health center policies and procedures
- Maintain professionalism and adheres to client confidentiality at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
