JOB SUMMARY:
Assist the HR Director in facilitating initiatives to foster a positive employee experience and workplace environment, with an emphasis on empowered teams. Ensure all Human Resource policies and procedures are followed. Provide support to all CHS employees and the leadership team with all areas of Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the recruiting process, including job postings, phone screens, and in person interviews.
- Complete references, background checks, and schedule physical and drug tests on all new employees.
- Ensure employment files are kept updated and are complete in HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Assist in payroll, including being the back-up to complete payroll in the absence of the HR Specialist.
- Assists employees and supervisors with questions about timecard management in the HRIS software.
- Respond to all employment verifications and reference requests in a timely manner.
- Serve as primary point of contact for all schools, students and interns.
- Oversee all agreements with schools and universities. Ensure agreements are in place, up-to-date and approved by the Compliance Director.
- Work with the Human Resources Director to ensure that Human Resource records are kept in compliance.
- Identifies and recommends retention strategies and positive employee relations initiatives.
- Prepares reports and enters and updates medical, insurance, retirement, and other personnel forms and records.
- Audits benefit accounts and examine records to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. Ability to interpret appropriate laws and policies and ability to advise management and employees accordingly.
- Experience in human resources and communications.
- Be a role model of the CHS mission, vision, and values.
- Ability to plan and facilitate meetings and effectively facilitate them.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks, assignments, and projects to meet established quality and time requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of project management.
- Innovative and open-minded approach to all aspects of work. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and respond to emails in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to identify and maintain confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direct supervision in the efficient and thorough completion of tasks.
Related Work Experience
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in human resources.
