Job Description

Summary of Position:

This strategic leadership role is responsible for the overall direction and execution of Human Resources and Organizational Development programs across all company facilities. This includes developing talent strategies, fostering a strong company culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a safe, engaging, and productive work environment for all employees. The role partners with executive leadership to align HR with company goals and business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that facilitates company needs.
  • Builds culture and drives outcomes in the best interest of the business and its employees.
  • Ensures organizational compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Manages the employee staffing process, including but not limited to, recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding/orientation training. 
  • Contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, disciplinary action, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Maintains and communicates Company policies regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Develops compensation strategies through market research to maintain competitive wage rates.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 7 years of prior human resources management experience.


Education: 

  • Minimum 4-Year degree or equivalent of directly-transferrable industry work experience (Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development preferred)

 

 

 


Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Successful experience as a Human Resources leader in a 200-500 employee Engineering and Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of the employees, together with those of the company.
  • Ability to appropriately adapt communication content and styles based on audience.
  • Capability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write communications and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Experience in coaching and developing subordinates, utilizing performance management tools and disciplines while increasing employee engagement and retention.
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • “Hands-on” self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and lift up to 30 pounds. Team lift or mechanical assistance required for objects over 30 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Proficient use of a keyboard and mouse, requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Ability to focus on a computer screen and other visual tasks for prolonged periods, with appropriate vision correction if needed.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
