Job Description

Immediate Need: Compassionate Hospice Caregiver

Hours Available: 

Every Day Overnights: 9 pm to 8 am

Every Day: 1 pm to 5 pm

Every Day: 8 am to 1 pm

 

Home Instead is seeking experienced and dependable caregivers to support a client transitioning home on hospice care. This is a high-priority case requiring caregivers who are comfortable providing hands-on personal care while offering compassionate emotional support to both the client and family.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking caregivers who:

  • Have experience caring for hospice or end-of-life clients
  • Are comfortable providing personal care, including brief changes and bed care
  • Can safely reposition bed-bound clients
  • Remain calm, reassuring, and emotionally steady during periods of decline
  • Understand the importance of dignity, comfort, and client-centered care
  • Communicate effectively with families, hospice staff, and the care team
  • Are dependable and committed to maintaining consistent coverage

Responsibilities

  • Personal care assistance
  • Bed-bound client support
  • Repositioning and skin integrity support
  • Bedpan assistance and comfort care
  • Companionship and emotional support
  • Observing and reporting changes to the appropriate care team
  • Following established care plans and hospice guidelines
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
