What We’re Looking For
Our Indianapolis, Indiana location is currently seeking an Industrial Facilities Technician to work the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday overtime.
This position will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization across the facility’s production and common areas. This role includes cleaning, minor maintenance, waste removal, and supporting the team in ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
What You Do:
- Perform routine custodial duties throughout assigned production, warehouse, office, restroom, breakroom, and common areas.
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and related tools, in accordance with training and safety procedures.
- Collect, sort, and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
- Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies safely, including proper labeling, storage, use, and disposal in accordance with company procedures.
- Respond promptly to cleanup needs and facility-related requests to help maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
- Maintain cleaning supply inventories and notify management when supplies need to be replenished; coordinate with approved vendors as directed.
- Perform basic building and facility upkeep tasks as assigned, such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and reporting maintenance concerns.
- Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or needed repairs and report concerns to management.
- Ensure safety signs, floor markings, spill stations, and related facility safety equipment are in place and function as intended.
- Support light building, grounds, parking lot, and outdoor property cleanup, including basic landscaping-related duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with approved vendor partners, such as landscaping or facility service providers, as directed by management.
- Support other departments with facility-related tasks when necessary.
- Operate a forklift or other powered industrial equipment only when properly trained, certified, and authorized by the Company.
- Follow all company safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous custodial or janitorial experience in an industrial or commercial setting is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to follow directions and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to handle minor repairs.
- Certifications and Licenses: Certifications in industrial cleaning or OSHA safety training are a plus.
