Position Summary:

The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the prevention, investigation, monitoring and reporting of the spread of diseases in hospitals.  Conducts, monitors and evaluates the Madera Community Hospital Infection Prevention surveillance program to reduce the risk of transmission of infections diseases to patients, visitors, volunteers, physicians and employees.  Works closely with the nursing and medical staff to implement Infection Prevention policies, procedures, and programs.  Provides education, conducts epidemiological investigations and recommends improvements.  May institute any appropriate control measures, isolation procedures, or studies when there is an immediate infection risk to patients or personnel.


Qualifications:

Requires current State of California Registered Nurse Licensure, prefer Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Prefer 1-2 years prior Infection Prevention Experience

Requires CBIC-CIC-Certified Infection Control certification (or ability to obtain in 12 months)
