JOB OVERVIEW

Incoming Inspectors are responsible for the initial intake and evaluation of components and modules entering the shop’s system. This role involves inspecting engine components and modules for quality and accuracy coming from outside vendors and performing a preliminary review and disposition of disassembled engine components and modules for routing through the shop.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices as required. Examine items for defects, workmanship issues, and damage incurred during transit.
  • Perform initial inspections of components and modules disassembled from engines.
  • Document component and module information accurately, ensuring proper traceability and identification, including part numbers and serial numbers.
  • Identify and record inaccurate or non-conforming items in the inventory system and quarantine materials as necessary.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain and other departments to resolve discrepancies with orders, components, and/or modules.
  • Enter component data into the MRO system (Quantum).
  • Ensure that they are familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Generate instructions to route part through the process within the shop.
  • Generate documentation and instructions to send part for subcontract work.
  • Handle any additional tasks as requested. 


Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in engine MRO environment.
  • Able to interpret OEM manuals and routers instructions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understand, speak, read, and write in English.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A & P license.
  • Working knowledge of Quantum (MRO system).


Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
