Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking an Insurance & Admission Associate for full-time employment

 

Individuals who have at least 1 year of experience processing insurance authorizations / verifications within a healthcare setting; who have experience interpreting medical referrals and health insurance policies; and who possess experience in a customer service role are encouraged to apply.

 

The Insurance & Admission Associate works collaboratively with other professionals to help maintain the optimal level of occupancy in Brethren Village's Skilled Nursing Facility, Short-term Rehabilitation Center, and Personal Care areas, based on the organization’s goals and the needs of older adult Residents.  The Insurance & Admission Associate effectively coordinates and administers insurance verification and admission-related functions to help achieve or exceed the organization’s budgeted occupancy goals. 

 

The Insurance & Admission Associate reviews referrals and insurance policies, requests and obtains authorizations, and verifies health insurance coverage prior to admission to our facilities. 

 

The Insurance & Admission Associate also performs general admission and marketing-related functions, including meeting with and providing accurate information and facility tours to prospective Residents and their family members.

 

 

Work Schedule

 

  • Full-time, benefits eligibleon-site, Monday through Friday, dayshift, 40 hours per week; occasional early evening and weekend hours may be required

 

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 1 year of related experience working with health insurance plans in a hospital or long-term care setting, or Skilled Nursing Facility; experience with insurance authorization and verification and/or Utilization Review
  • Thorough understanding and ability to interpret referrals for admission and health insurance policies, including an understanding of coverage provided through Medicare and Medicare supplemental plans
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to accurately review and interpret medical records
  • Experience in a customer service role; ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with Residents, prospective Residents, and their family members and representatives
  • Proficiency using computerized databases such as Point-Click-Care, and software applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to keep work organized and complete assignments on time in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with work
  • Ability to make sound decisions / judgments based upon given information
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally; comfort speaking in front of small groups and conducting small group meetings
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations; the ability and willingness to protect the confidentiality of data, and use proper discretion when interacting with Residents, their representatives, and colleagues
  • Ability to represent Brethren Village in a positive and professional manner; ability and willingness to consistently interact with Residents and co-workers in a polite, professional, and helpful manner
  • Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends as required to complete job duties

Please note Applicants who are offered employment must be able to attend a 2 to 3 hour pre-employment appointment during the morning or early afternoon, including an off-site physical exam, and participate in an orientation session from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on a Monday.
