Position Overview

 

Location: Annapolis, MD

 

The Operational Intelligence Team is designed to strengthen collaboration between intelligence, operations, and monitoring teams across Crisis24’s global network. The team ensures that Crisis24’s intelligence and operational outputs are fully aligned — supporting our clients, internal teams, and global mission.

 

Operational Intelligence Analyst (OI) will guide shift operations based on operational priorities, ensuring analytical quality, leading coordination during major incidents, and addressing bespoke client intelligence requirements Directly embedded in Crisis24’s Security & Medical Global Operations Centers (GOCs), OI guarantees that accurate, timely, and actionable intelligence supports Crisis24’s global operations.  

 

Operating 24/7 via a follow-the-sun structure, OI will collaborate across the Global Intelligence and Security/Medical Operations teams to support planning for and response to security escalations and assistance missions globally. They will ensure GOCs have timely access to intelligence to effectively develop risk assessments, formulate advice, and develop and execute mission plans.  They will also translate GOC-developed advice into our suite of intelligence products for clients at scale.

 

In addition to supporting operational assistance and response, this role will facilitate delivery of actionable intelligence directly to clients, coordinating global monitoring and alerting and curating customized responses to complex Requests for Information (RFIs).

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

1. Operational and Shift Coordination

  • Coordinate activities of the global monitoring and intelligence teams during assigned Watch Officer (Watch) (WOM) shifts.
  • Maintain clear communication and information flow between global operations centers and the intelligence functions.
  • Monitor significant global events and assess their potential impact on clients and operations.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for incidents and intelligence-related issues, ensuring swift coordination with relevant teams.
  • Support and mentor analysts, encouraging consistent quality and professional growth across shifts.

 

2. Intelligence Support to Security & Medical Operations

  • Provide timely intelligence briefings and updates to operational teams supporting security, medical, and travel missions.
  • Integrate intelligence findings into operational planning, journey management, evacuations, and other response efforts.
  • Maintain communication with deployed or field-based teams to ensure accurate and real-time information exchange.
  • Support the development and maintenance of watchlists and priority intelligence requirements (PIRs) aligned with operational and client needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Operations Centers (GOCs) and the Global Intelligence team to synchronize priorities and outputs.
  • Infuse intelligence deliverables with operations-developed advice.

 

3. Crisis Management and Escalation

  • Coordinate intelligence and communication flow during crises or major incidents.
  • Deliver timely, verified updates and intelligence briefings to operations, leadership, and client-facing teams.
  • Support real-time decision-making by providing clear, concise, and actionable intelligence.
  • Contribute to refining escalation procedures, readiness planning, and post-incident reviews.

 

4. Client Requests and Reporting

  • Manage client Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring accuracy, clarity, customer centricity, and timeliness.
  • Triage incoming RFIs in coordination with Security/Medical Ops to prioritize tasks based on urgency, scope, and strategic value.
  • Coordinate with subject-matter experts and operations teams to deliver high-quality intelligence products.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client value through proactive, intelligence-led solutions.

 

5. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

  • Review and approve intelligence outputs for accuracy, consistency, and tone.
  • Identify and address workflow gaps, process inefficiencies, and tool improvement opportunities.
  • Support ongoing refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), analytical frameworks, and escalation protocols.
  • Participate in training and feedback sessions to enhance overall team readiness and cohesion.

 

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field (Political Science, International Relations, Intelligence, Economics); Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related field (Intelligence Analysis, Enterprise Risk Management, Global Security)
  • Excellent general knowledge of global and regional political, security and travel dynamics
  • Familiarity with the information requirements and capabilities of a security operation center
  • Proven ability to successfully network, including with colleagues, clients, external providers, and on-the-ground- sources
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Experience in 24/7 operational or monitoring environments.
  • Ability to lead or contribute effectively as part of a global, multi-shift team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment, demonstrating openness, active listening, and adaptability.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances


Preferred

  • Experience of working in high-pressure environments, to tight deadlines and in fast-moving crisis situations
  • Experience living, studying, or traveling in a region of interest
  • Experience working with analytical tools, AI tools and/or GIS tools
  • Experience conducting or supporting global security/medical operations.
  • Foreign language proficiency preferred

 

Additional Information

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, within a 24/7 operation.
  • A recent short writing sample (up to 750 words) may be required as part of the application process.
  • Candidates may also be asked to complete a written or scenario-based assessment.

 

Compensation for this role is structured within a salary range of $73,000 to $90,000, commensurate on relevant experience.
