Position Summary

The Inventory Operations Lead supports daily retail operations by serving as the on-duty inventory and compliance lead within a high-volume cannabis retail environment. This role performs hands-on inventory control, intake, reconciliation, and documentation while supporting operational execution, compliance, and shift-level coordination. The Inventory Operations Lead operates in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and Nevada cannabis regulations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support retail operations through accurate and timely management of all cannabis and non-cannabis inventory.
  • Receive, verify, and process incoming internal and external product transfers in accordance with Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) regulations and company procedures.
  • Accept and reconcile transfer manifests by verifying physical inventory against documentation prior to acceptance.
  • Ensure receipt and retention of all required transfer documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs), testing documentation, and required disclosures.
  • Generate, assign, and apply required inventory tags and packaging labels in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately enter and maintain inventory data within the POS system and all required state-mandated compliance systems.
  • Add approved and saleable products into POS inventory following verification and quality checks.
  • Perform daily, periodic, monthly, and quarterly inventory counts and reconciliations; identify discrepancies and escalate variances to management.
  • Support inventory audits, investigations, and regulatory inspections by maintaining organized, accurate, and compliant records.
  • Monitor inventory movement, storage, and organization to ensure compliance with security, handling, and storage requirements.
  • Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation for all inventory activities.
  • Identify inventory, compliance, safety, or operational issues and escalate appropriately to management.
  • Serve as an on-floor and back-of-house resource for inventory procedures, compliance requirements, and operational standards.
  • Provide real-time guidance and support to team members regarding inventory handling and documentation without exercising formal supervisory authority.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and shift handoff activities related to inventory control when assigned.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and general upkeep of inventory rooms, vaults, storage areas, and workspaces.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with management and coworkers.
  • Support store leadership with inventory-related documentation, reporting, and special projects as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • All inventory, compliance, security, and operational activities are performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory expectations.

 

Schedule and Work Hours

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Additional hours may be required during inventory counts, audits, or operational needs.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete required criminal background checks.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Marijuana Agent Registration Card and any required local or jurisdictional work cards.
  • Must be eligible for employment under Nevada cannabis regulations.
  • One (1) or more years of inventory, retail operations, or compliance-related experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Previous cannabis inventory or compliance experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management systems, and standard office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works in a retail dispensary environment where cannabis products are present, which may include exposure to marijuana odor and plant-related airborne dust particles.

This role requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to interact with coworkers, operate inventory and compliance systems, and support operational needs.

All essential job functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with applicable law.

Physical activities may include standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, twisting, climbing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance).
