Position Summary

Healthy Community Health Centers (HCHC) is seeking a dedicated IT Technical Support Specialist to support our mission-driven, patient-centered environment. As part of a collaborative healthcare team, this customer-facing role provides technical assistance for computer hardware, software, applications, and monitoring systems that support clinical and administrative operations.


Working within an FQHC setting requires a high level of flexibility, responsiveness, and teamwork. The IT Technical Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring technology supports seamless patient care, particularly in fast-paced and resource-sensitive environments. This position requires adaptability, strong communication, and a commitment to delivering reliable, compassionate support to staff serving diverse patient populations

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, customer-focused technical support to clinical and administrative staff, both remotely and in person
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, applications, and network-connected devices
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure IT systems effectively support patient care delivery
  • Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and responding to urgent technical needs across multiple sites and departments
  • Document, track, and manage support requests, resolutions, and system updates in accordance with organizational standards
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT teams while maintaining communication with impacted users

 

System Maintenance & Monitoring

  • Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Proactively monitor systems and applications to identify performance concerns and potential security risks
  • Apply updates, patches, and security measures to maintain system integrity and compliance
  • Assist with maintaining uptime and functionality of systems critical to patient care operations

 

Communication & Training

  • Provide clear, user-friendly technical guidance to individuals with varying levels of IT proficiency
  • Translate technical solutions into practical, understandable terms for non-technical users
  • Deliver training and ongoing guidance on IT best practices, including cybersecurity awareness
  • Maintain a collaborative, team-oriented approach when working with staff, vendors, and IT colleagues

Teamwork & Work Environment

  • Work both independently and as part of a supportive, team-based IT environment
  • Partner with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to implement and sustain effective technology solutions
  • Adapt to changing priorities and shifting demands in a dynamic healthcare environment
