Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
This position will function as a working team leader of a cleaning crew by assigning the work, giving instructions, providing assistance and observing the work in progress on a daily basis. Performing a variety of janitorial tasks such as maintenance and repair work, cleaning and care tasks that require medium to heavy physical labor, and shoveling snow and mowing lawns as necessary to upkeep sidewalks, yards, and driveways is also included. This position is supervised by a Supervising Janitor. Using appropriate PPE and selecting and safely using the appropriate tools and equipment needed to complete the assigned tasks as well as attending job related training will be required. - Must be eligible for permanent appointment to this title pursuant to civil service law
- Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions
- Physically able to perform the tasks of the position including, but not limited to, those in the Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with a variety of individuals
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior professional cleaning experience
Salary (Applicant View)
$18.31 Hourly or $38,235 Annually in accordance with CSEA Salary Schedule, plus excellent benefits.
