Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Construction Project Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, comprehensive cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial, residential, or public-sector projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, sub-contractors, and clients to ensure financial viability and project success from initial kickoff to completion.

- Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed material takeoffs using specialized digital estimating software.
- Analyze blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications to determine project scopes.
- Research market costs for labor, materials, equipment, and transportation logistics.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and material vendors for competitive pricing.
- Prepare complete bid packages and present detailed budget proposals to stakeholders.
- Assess potential risk factors and implement cost-control strategies to minimize overruns.
- Manage change orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), and independent cost updates.
- Travel to multiple project sites to assess scopes of work, take measurements, identify required time and materials, contact subcontractors if needed and request quotes.
- Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience specifically in construction cost estimating.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tools like Bluebeam, able to learn new programs.
- Mathematical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and high-level accuracy with financial data.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for vendor negotiations.
