Description
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive/predictive maintenance; diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; inspect, disassemble, and reassemble machinery components.
· Installation: Install and align new equipment per specifications; collaborate with engineers and technicians on project execution.
· Fabrication: Fabricate and install handrails, guards, ladders, catwalks, and stair systems to OSHA standards.
· Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety and environmental regulations; use PPE and lockout/tagout; maintain a clean work area and attend safety meetings.
· Technical Expertise: Read blueprints and schematics; operate welding equipment (wire, TIG, stick), lathes, drill press, key cutter, grinders, forklifts (Hyster), and cranes; understand metallurgy, rigging practices, and CMMS systems; stay current on industry advancements.
· Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with production and engineering teams; mentor Millwright 1s and apprentices; communicate equipment status effectively.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance records; document modifications and report recurring or major issues.
Requirements
Qualifications
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified millwright apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training preferred. Pertinent certifications of millwrighting, welding, and safety training are preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of three to five years of experience as a millwright in an industrial setting, preferably in the forest products industry.
· Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in various hand and power tools. Know of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Welding and fabrication skills.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
· Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
· Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
· Bending, twisting, and stooping are continuously required.
Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.

These positions are responsible for varying levels of maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery and equipment. This role involves working independently and as part of a team, applying skills and knowledge to ensure the efficient operation of production machinery. Millwright 2 is expected to take on more complex tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
