Job Description
Kindergarten Interim Teacher
John Sevier Elementary School is seeking a qualified and licensed educator to serve as an Interim Kindergarten Teacher. This temporary assignment is expected to last three months or longer, depending on the needs of the school.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching in a self-contained Kindergarten classroom and providing a positive, engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Tennessee State Standards.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Kindergarten team to ensure the best possible educational experience for students and staff.
- Implement engaging lessons that promote student learning, critical thinking, and independence.
- Monitor student progress and use data to inform instruction.
- Foster the social and emotional development of Kindergarten students through positive relationships and effective classroom management.
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate certification.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education and best instructional practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, students, and families.
- Commitment to maintaining high expectations and academic rigor while supporting the developmental needs of young learners.
