Job Description
The Junior Project Manager supports the planning, execution, and delivery of projects across the organization. Working closely with senior project managers and cross-functional teams, this role is responsible for coordinating project activities, tracking progress, managing documentation, and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities and ensure tasks are completed on time
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines using PM tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project)
- Support resource allocation and scheduling across project workstreams
Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and status update reports
- Facilitate regular project meetings and follow up on action items
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Escalate risks and issues to the Senior Project Manager in a timely manner
Risk & Issue Management
- Assist in identifying, logging, and monitoring project risks and issues
- Support the development and tracking of risk mitigation plans
- Maintain the project risk register and issue log
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including project charters, SOWs, and change logs
- Produce weekly status reports and project dashboards for leadership review
- Ensure all project artifacts are version-controlled and stored in the appropriate repositories
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in a project management, project coordination role, or related experience
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- CAPM, PMP, or equivalent certification (or actively pursuing)
- Experience with project management software such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, or MS Project
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum frameworks and ceremonies
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
