Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and hard-working Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our boarding operations, ensuring our canine and feline guests are safe, clean, fed, and happy. Because we are attached to a vet clinic, you will also play a crucial role in monitoring pets for any signs of illness and communicating closely with our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities

Daily Pet Care: Feed, water, and administer basic oral or topical medications according to strict schedules and owner instructions.

Exercise & Enrichment: Walk dogs individually, manage safe playtimes, and provide cuddle time/socialization for cats and dogs.

Facility Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and prepare runs, cages, and kitty condos. Wash pet dishes, do laundry (blankets/towels), and maintain a spotless, odor-free facility.

Health Monitoring: Keep a watchful eye on guests’ appetite, bowel movements, and overall behavior. Promptly report any changes or concerns to the veterinary team.

Client Interaction: Enthusiastically check pets in and out, gather detailed care instructions from owners, and occasionally provide updates or photos to anxious pet parents.
What We Are Looking For

Experience: Prior experience in a kennel, vet clinic, or animal shelter is preferred but not required. We are fully equipped and happy to train the right person with the right attitude!

A True Animal Lover: Patience, empathy, and comfort handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.

Reliability: Animals rely on us 365 days a year. Punctuality and dependability are absolute musts.

Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long periods, lift up to 40–50 lbs, and handle dogs that may pull on a leash.

Flexibility: Availability to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays, as these are our busiest boarding times.
