Why we need you:

As a Label Operator, you are essential in ensuring that our products are labeled correctly, which is vital for maintaining our brand's reputation for quality and safety. Your role directly impacts our ability to meet production goals and customer expectations.


A Day in the life:

  • Operate labeling equipment adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Assist the packaging operator/team leader in maintaining product and package quality, including date codes.
  • Make necessary corrections to maintain production standards.
  • Coordinate with the packaging operator/team leader and supervisor to meet production needs.
  • Contribute to quality control efforts to maintain product and package consistency.
  • Report machine difficulties to the packaging operator/team leader, maintenance, or supervisor.
  • Notify the packaging operator/team leader when packaging materials are needed.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties and routine maintenance as required.
  • Coordinate with the oncoming shift regarding any packaging changeovers or issues.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Be available to work overtime and alternate shifts when necessary.
  • Comply with plant rules and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to quality system requirements.
  • Complete required logs and forms.


Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Forklift License (provided by employer).


Competencies and preferred Skills:

  • Availability to work during the 3rd shift hours (10p-6a)
  • Technical and organizational knowledge with a mechanical aptitude.
  • Cognitive thinking skills, including attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions.
  • Leadership in recognizing and addressing sub-standard issues.
  • Organizational and administrative skills to handle multiple demands and balance priorities.
  • Customer orientation, upholding AFP values, and delivering high-quality service.
  • Clear and effective communication, with a respectful and professional demeanor.


Working Relationships:

You will work closely with a team, supporting and collaborating with other departments as necessary. While you may not have direct supervisory responsibilities, your role is crucial in supporting the team and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
  • Frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Operate machinery and tools requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels in a production environment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
