Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with 3+ years of litigation and counseling experience to join our Roseland office. The role spans both litigation and counseling work, with strong mentorship and increasing autonomy as you grow.
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing cases independently while collaborating with senior attorneys and clients on practical, business-focused solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
- Manage discovery, including document review, productions, and depositions.
- Participate in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Represent clients in employment-related disputes, including:
- Discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and harassment claims.
- Wrongful termination and hostile work environment matters.
- Wage and hour disputes.
- Breach of restrictive covenant and employment agreements.
- Handle administrative agency proceedings (EEOC, NJDCR, and NJDOL).
- Support employment counseling matters, including:
- Employee discipline and termination.
- Disability accommodations.
- Drafting and reviewing employment, severance, and restrictive covenant agreements.
- Workplace investigations and handbook/policy development.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 3+ years of litigation experience (employment litigation preferred).
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required), New York Bar admission a plus.
- Experience with motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.
- Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $165,000–$180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final salary will be based on experience, skills, and overall contribution.
