We are seeking a motivated and creative Landscape Architect in Training to join our team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals working toward professional licensure. You will work under the supervision of an experienced landscape architect on a variety of projects, contributing to design development, site analysis, and construction documentation. There is a strong growth opportunity for future leadership within the Landscape Architecture team.
Essential Functions
Support site analysis and assessment tasks. Prepare initial conceptual site plan layouts, including hardscape and landscape features.
Research zoning codes, land use regulations, and jurisdictional requirements to support project feasibility and permitting.
Prepare conceptual designs, renderings, and presentation materials for landscape architecture projects, including parks, streetscapes, multifamily developments, and commercial sites.
Support the entitlement process, including preparing submittals, coordinating with local agencies, and tracking approvals.
Conduct research on materials, plants, and sustainable design practices.
Develop construction documents, including planting plans, irrigation plans, and associated project details.
Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants.
Assist with project documentation, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in site visits and assist with construction observation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program.
Actively pursuing professional licensure (or intent to pursue).
Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, and Revit is a plus.
Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of site design principles, grading, drainage, and planting design.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Experience with 3D modeling and rendering tools (e.g., Lumion, Rhino).
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or prior work experience in a landscape architecture or design firm.
Familiarity with sustainable design practices (e.g., low-impact development, native planting).
Special Considerations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, adequately see and talk or hear. The employee will communicate with co-workers, read, work on a computer, use a computer keyboard and mouse as well as operate the phone system and copy machine. The ability to occasionally lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, generally at waist level or below may be necessary. This position requires the incumbent to perform site visits which require the use of safety equipment and may require climbing a ladder and ensuring safety measures are implemented.
