Job Summary
The Lead Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for leading the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade data centers and hybrid cloud environments. The role covers end-to-end infrastructure including physical data center systems, compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud architectures, ensuring high availability, scalability, security, and compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Center Design & Engineering
- Design of Tier II–IV data centers including power systems, cooling, racks, structured cabling, and redundancy architectures
- Define compute, storage, virtualization, and network infrastructure architecture
- Develop physical security systems and monitoring solutions for data center environments
Cloud & Virtualization Architecture
- Design hybrid cloud solutions across platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and VMware
- Develop containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes
- Design disaster recovery, backup, failover, and business continuity solutions
Documentation & Governance
- Prepare detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, reports, and bill of materials
- Conduct capacity planning, performance optimization, and infrastructure security assessments
Implementation & Support
- Oversee deployment, commissioning, and integration of data center and cloud infrastructure
- Evaluate vendors and lead technical reviews for hardware and software solutions
Standards, Compliance & Security
- Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ISO 27001, NIST, and cybersecurity best practices
- Maintain alignment with organizational and regulatory security standards
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Relevant certifications such as CDCP/CDCS, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or VMware VCP/VCAP are preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data center engineering, cloud infrastructure, and virtualization
- Strong expertise in data center design (power, cooling, redundancy) and IT infrastructure architecture
- Proven experience in hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, VMware)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and high availability architectures
- Proficiency in data center and cloud infrastructure tools and platforms
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic
