ABOUT THE ROLE
We are a growing fence installation and construction company based in Highland, WI hiring a Fence Construction Foreman to lead our field crews. This is a leadership role first — fence experience is not required. We will train the right person from the ground up. What we cannot train is the ability to lead people, manage a job site, and hold yourself and your crew to a high standard.
If you have led crews in construction, agriculture, landscaping, or any trades environment and you are looking for a company that rewards performance and promotes from within, we want to talk to you.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Crew Leadership
• Lead 2–4 person installation crews on residential, agricultural, and commercial fence projects
• Set the daily work plan — assign tasks, manage pace, and hold the crew to quality standards
• Train and develop crew members; be the standard they work up to
• Maintain a job site culture of safety, professionalism, and pride in the work
Field Operations
• Oversee all phases of installation: layout, post setting, panel and line installation, gates, and finish work
• Operate and maintain company trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Class A CDL required — or must be genuinely willing to obtain one within an agreed timeline
• Load, stage, and manage materials efficiently across multi-stop days
Customer & Office Communication
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers — professional, clear, and confident
• Communicate job progress, issues, and changes back to the office daily
• Identify scope changes in the field and escalate appropriately
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required
• Proven experience leading field crews or teams — construction, agriculture, landscaping, trades, or similar
• Natural leader: people follow you because they respect you
• Class A CDL, or willing and able to obtain one on an agreed schedule
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license
• Physically capable of demanding outdoor work in all Wisconsin seasons
• Reliable, organized, and accountable — you set the tone on your job site
Fence experience is NOT required. We will teach everything. That said, any of the following is a plus:
• Agricultural fencing, post-frame construction, or land improvement
• Concrete, post driving, or ground preparation
• Gate hardware, welding, or metal fabrication
• Skid steer, tractor, mini excavator, or hydraulic post driver operation
WHY THIS ROLE
• $85,000–$100,000 salary — consistent pay, no weather games
• Quarterly performance bonuses tied to real metrics — when the crew wins, you win
• Salaried position with a clear path to Field Operations Manager as we grow
• Small company — your work is visible and your leadership matters
• We invest in good equipment and a real facility — you will have what you need to do the job right
• We are building something — if you want to grow with a company, not just work for one, this is it
