The Lead Relationship Manager, Farm Credit Banking, Affiliated Associations is responsible for managing assigned affiliated Farm Credit System (FCS) partner relationships (ranging from $500 million to $32 billion) to develop strategies to identify and execute collaborative financial solutions. The role includes developing Farm Credit System relationships, and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders at executive management levels in support of bank strategies and initiatives. The position requires leading product and broader strategy discussions, driving innovative customer solutions and focusing on mutually beneficial outcomes. In addition, the role includes proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders, managing risk identification and underwriting, prioritizing initiatives, and staying informed about industry trends and the competitive environment. The relationship manager must ensure high levels of partner satisfaction and the achievement of business objectives.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for servicing and monitoring direct notes for affiliated associations, as well as other wholesale-related credit facilities.
- Coordinates and communicates key changes in the General Financing Agreement in response to regulatory, market, or strategy evolution.
- Review and approval of official loan requests from affiliated associations.
- Per the request of affiliated associations, attend board meetings or board planning sessions.
- Serves as the primary contact point with the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regarding affiliated association related activities, including FCA exam findings.
- Coordinates CoBank activities related to special regulatory oversight events and situations requiring CoBank involvement and support, such as FCA supervisory activities and merger/alliance approvals.
- Serves as the primary internal contact for CoBank Asset Review and Internal Audit. Responsible for reviewing District Credit Reviews (DCR), CIPA/Camel reports, Integrated District Review (IDR) and Asset Quality Reporting.
- Balances CoBank’s strategic needs while representing affiliated associations perspectives related to the evolution of the Farm Credit Bank (FCB) Capital and Patronage Plan.
- Understands the funding and pricing of association originated loans and represents affiliated associations perspectives while balancing CoBank’s asset liability management risks related to Treasury products. Serves as the primary internal contact for CoBank’s Finance and Treasury teams.
- Manages coordination with appropriate internal teams pertaining to new collaborative solutions between CoBank and affiliated associations.
- Supports and coordinates sponsorship/corporate giving efforts between CoBank and affiliated associations.
- Manages, coordinates and plans meetings between CoBank and affiliated associations.
- Supports and manages affiliated associations Letters of Credit requests with CoBank’s Trade Services group.
- Attends industry and system-wide Farm Credit events. As necessary, coordinate planning of CoBank events in conjunction with FCS events.
- Ensures effective day-to-day operations between CoBank and affiliated associations.
- Builds relationships with Farm Credit System (FCS) partners in order to develop a relationship strategy, identify needs and potential collaborative strategic solutions. Owns the enterprise-wide relationship between FCS partners and CoBank.
- Leads CoBank product and strategy discussions with FCS partners tailored to the needs of individual FCS entities, with a focus on mutually beneficial solutions.
- Identifies and executes strategic ways of collaborating with FCS partners on technology, capital management and customer product solutions.
- Effectively communicates internally/externally so that FCS partners’ satisfaction is maintained at high levels and business objectives of both institutions are attained.
- Serves as the lead internal contact with CoBank functional teams to incorporate FCS partners perspectives while developing/finding collaborative solutions.
- Leads communication throughout all levels of FCS partners organization including leadership.
- Acts as the lead internal contact and advisor for outbound communication with assigned FCS partners.
- Works closely with CoBank credit team on risk identification and underwriting for all credit facilities to FCS partners.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders at CoBank to effectively prioritize initiatives that support the execution of collaborative solutions for FCS partners.
- Represents FCS partners’ perspectives regarding the evolution of product and pricing strategies.
- Responsible for management reporting and analysis for internal stakeholders and executive review.
- In collaboration with banking teams, supports the loan sales and trading activity in conjunction with the FCBG Capital Markets Strategy Director.
- Partners closely with internal banking teams to manage incoming purchase participation opportunities.
- Where appropriate, collaborate with FCS service organizations and their ownership group to identify and utilize potential underlying technology solutions.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree required
Work Experience
- Advanced knowledge of capital markets, corporate finance, sponsor finance, regional agribusiness, digital infrastructure, power, energy and utilities, electric distribution, project finance, supply chain financing, leasing, cash management, trade services and derivatives.
- Expert knowledge of the Farm Credit System including Farm Credit Administration (FCA), Farm Credit System Insurance Corporation (FCSIS), Farm Credit Council (FCC), Service corporations, Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation, Farmer Mac (FMAC)
- Expert knowledge of how bank and association capital and patronage plan’s function
- Advanced knowledge of credit structuring, loan participation and syndications, and general corporate finance skills.
- Advanced ability to identify risk areas and proactively determine appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively, build and maintain effective relationships with internal team members, external stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Advanced knowledge of Farm Credit System regulatory requirements and eligibilities
- 12 years of pertinent Farm Credit System experience preferred.
- 12 years of financial services experience, preferably in the agriculture preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of GFA and wholesale lending supplement.
- Expert knowledge of industry trends and competitive environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to exercise influence, and a proven track record in facilitating and positively motivating teams and instilling accountability to complete initiatives.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project), and information sharing systems (SharePoint)

The typical base pay range for this role is between $177,100 - $217,900. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
