About the Department


This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt.

The Learn to Skate School Instructor is responsible to teach pre-beginner to advance lessons using ISI guidelines. This part-time position will assist in the testing and advancement of Learn to Skate participants.

Classes are held year-round on Monday evenings from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Position Duties

  • Instruct lesson according to the guidelines of the Learn to Skate School
  • Provide assistance to patrons.
  • Provide direction in the event of an emergency.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to Learn to Skate School Director and Recreation Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience instructing different skill levels of figure skating and hockey.
  • Good skating techniques, teaching and communication skills.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Must be available to work Monday evenings on a regular basis.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
