POSITION PURPOSE
Able to perform setup and operation functions for flange weld and routinely performs such duties. Assists supervisor in identifying maintenance requirements. Performs all work activities in accordance with Health and Safety Program and IATF 16949 Quality System. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is currently 1st shift – 6:00am-2:30pm
Including overtime as production requirements deem necessary.
- Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
- Successfully complete training per requirements of company training program.
- Successfully complete IATF 16949 Quality Training.
- Perform setups and changeovers for flange weld operations according to the work instructions and job routers.
- Operate flange weld to perform production operations.
- Assist other employees in setup and operation functions as needed.
- Operate other production machines as needed.
- Seek to maximize the output of quality parts per production schedule.
- Identify improvements of methods that will increase quality and profitability.
- Identify maintenance issues as they arise.
- Provide information as requested to other departments to facilitate the completion of work projects.
- Understand and comply with all facets of the Health and Safety Program.
- Perform projects within the framework of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.
- Exhibit professional demeanor.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills and abilities)
- Able to read drawings to include material and part specifications, tolerances, notes. symbols, and multiple part views.
- Has working knowledge of metal types, gauges, finishes, etc.
- Exhibits good problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits adequate verbal communication skills.
- Exhibits adequate employee relation skills.
- Requires the ability to set, adjust and secure tooling using various hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Perform work requiring lifting, pushing and pulling of materials. Some of these may be repetitive and weigh up to 25 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- Prior welding and operation experience preferred.
- Should have basic math and reading skills.
